Explore all tripsThe whole tour constitutes 7N/ 8D making it an ideal vacation to experience the essence of each destination. The cities covered in the tour include Jaipur, Sawai Madhupur, Chittorgarh, Udaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, and Bhagalpur in Rajasthan. In Uttar Pradesh, the journey includes Agra (Taj Mahal) and concludes in the Delhi. The detailed Palace on Wheels travel itinerary in follows.
Report at the Safdarjung Railway station, Delhi before 16:00. The check-in process starts immediately after the traditional welcome ceremony as per Indian traditions with Garlanding, Tikka and Turban. The crew / attendant of the Palace on Wheels Train will guide you to your respective cabins. They will serve you the welcome drink and provide a brief detailing about the facilities and amenities inside the train. The Train will start from the Delhi station towards Jaipur by 18:30. Dinner will be served inside the train restaurants named “The Maharajah” and “The Maharani”. Overnight stay inside the train.
The train reaches Jaipur railway station in the morning. At 7:00 breakfast will be served in the train. By 8:00, vehicle will be ready for the excursion. Once you get down from the train, you will receive a traditional Rajasthani royal welcome with Garlands, Kali Ghodi Dance and others. Before lunch, you will be taken to all the eminent attractions of the land like Albert Hall Museum, City Palace, Jantar Mantar, Hawa Mahal, Amber Fort and others. Lunch will be served at 13:30 in 1135 AD restaurant inside Amber Fort. After lunch, the exploration of Amber Fort continues with the elephant ride. By evening 17:00, you will be taken to shopping at the local markets of Jaipur which is popular for its jewellery, handicrafts and trinkets. Get back to the train by 19:00. Dinner will be served at 19:30 in the train. By 20:00, the train will start its journey towards Sawai Madhopur. Overnight stay in the train.
The train reaches Sawai Madhopur in the morning. The early morning jeep safari is the best part of Ranthambore National Park. Thus, the day will be start quite early on Friday. The excursion will be start at 6:00 in the morning (before breakfast). After reaching Ranthambore, your vehicle will be waiting for safari to experience the explosive tiger and other flora and fauna. After safari, you will be taken back to the train and immediately served breakfast at 10:00 in the morning. As you dine, the train will start at 10:20 towards the next destination, Chittorgarh. Lunch will be served during the journey. The train will reach at Chittorgarh by 15:00. After a brief rest, sightseeing will start at 16:00 and you will explore the beautiful Chittorgarh Fort which still resonate the stories of Rajputana bravery. After exploring the Chittorgarh Fort, you will take to a restaurant inside the fort for high tea and other refreshments. The sound and light program at the fort will start at 18:00. You will be taken back to the train by 20:00 for a delicious dinner. Dinner will start immediately. The train stays at the railway station overnight. Overnight stay in the train.
The train will start the onwards journey from Chittorgarh in the morning and reaches Udaipur by 7:00 in the morning. Breakfast will be served at 7:30. After a brief rest, the sightseeing excursion of Udaipur will be start at 9:00 in the morning. Before lunch, you will be taken to Saheliyon ki Bari, City Palace, Crystal Gallery and shopping until it is time for lunch. Around 13:00, you will be taken to Fateh Prakash Hotel for delicious lunch. By 14:00, you will enjoy the boat ride on Lake Pichola to reach Jag Mandir Palace, where high tea will be served. Get back to the train by 15:30. Evening tea is served immediately. After a brief rest, the train will start its journey towards Jaisalmer at 16:00. Overnight stay in the train and delicious dinner will be served on board.
The train will reach Jaisalmer by 9:00 in the morning. Breakfast will be available at 7:30. Thus, you can dine and take a brief rest before starting sightseeing at 9:30. Before lunch, you would cover Gadisar Lake, Nathmal ji ki Haveli, Patwon ki Haveli, Jaisalmer Fort and Heritage City Walk. You will be taken back to the train for lunch. After lunch and brief rest, you will be taken to enjoy camel safari at Sam sand dunes at 16:00. After safari, you will be served tea before starting back to the train. You will reach it by train by 19:00. After a little refreshment, you will be taken to Gorbandh Palace for dinner with live cultural program. Get back to the train for overnight stay by almost midnight. Train will start the onwards journey to Jodhpur immediately.
The Train will reach Jodhpur railway station in the morning and breakfast will be served as usual at 7:30. By 9:00, the coaches and cars will be ready for excursion. Before lunch, you will be taken to explore the famous attractions of Jodhpur covering Mehrangarh Fort, Umaid Bhawan Palace, Jaswant Thada and if time permits, shopping at the local shops. By 13:30, lunch will be served at luxurious Ajit Bhawan Palace. You will be taken back to the train by 16:00. The rest of the day is free for you to enjoy the amenities and facilities inside the train. The train will start its onward journey towards Bharatpur by 16:30. Dinner will be served on board at 19:30. Overnight stay in the train.
The train will reach Bharatpur early in the morning. You will be taken on an early excursion to Keoladeo National Park also known as “Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary” for a rickshaw safari (before breakfast) by 6:30. It is a heaven for bird watchers and see the 380 resident and migrant species of birds. After safari, you will be taken back to the train by 8:45 AM and breakfast will be served shortly. By 9 AM, as you dine, the train will start its journey towards the last attraction of the itinerary, Agra. The train reaches the marble paradise by 11:00 AM and you will be taken on an excursion immediately from Agra Cantt railway station. Before lunch, you will process to Agra fort for exploration. Lunch will be served at Deluxe hotel at 13:30. By 15:00, you will be taken to One of the Seven wonders of the world - Taj Mahal for exploration and sightseeing. The rest of the day until 18:00 is dedicated to shopping. After shopping, get back to the train. Dinner will be served at 19:30, while the train stays put at Agra. The train starts its final journey of the itinerary towards Delhi at 20:45. Rest of the day is free for tourists to explore the train.
The train reaches Delhi Safdarjung railway station by 2:30. The breakfast will be served by 6:00 in the morning and checkout formalities start by 7:30. Once the formalities are completed, you will be allowed to de-board the train at their own pace and carry on with their vacation, if desired.

Your passport needs to be valid for at least six (6) months after your journey ends, and should
have enough blank visa pages for entry and exit stamps from each country you visit.

Be sure to register with your nearest embassy or consulate for the destinations included in your
journey. U.S. citizens can register through STEP, the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program
(step.state.gov/step). Canadian citizens can enroll in Registration of Canadians Abroad at
travel.gc.ca/travelling/registration.
Check with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention or the World Health
Organization (who.int/en) for the latest on required and recommended vaccines for your
destination. You’ll want to visit your doctor or local travel clinic a couple of months before
departure to allow time for any vaccinations to take effect or to fill any prescriptions.
Be sure to pack your original COVID-19 and other vaccination certificates and required health
documentation in your personal carry-on baggage in case you are asked to show them on arrival.
Cal India Travel recommends travelling with some currency and at least three different major credit cards, such as
Visa, Mastercard and Amex, so you have backup if your card is not accepted or lost. Contact your bank
and credit card companies to let them know where and when you’ll be travelling, as well as
confirm any foreign transaction fees.
When carrying cash, try to travel only with recently issued currency in smaller denominations.
many merchants overseas won’t accept wrinkled or torn bills. Only exchange currency at
authorized outlets such as currency exchanges, ATMs or hotels and save receipts as they may
be required for exit.
While most smartphones work overseas, you might need to turn on international roaming service
before you travel. Contact your carrier for information on coverage and voice and data plan
options while travelling abroad.
Many hotels and public places have Wi-Fi and you’ll usually be able to stay connected throughout
your journey, although Internet access may be poor to non-existent in remote destinations. Note
there are restrictions on access to social media sites or what content you can view or send online.
Many websites and smartphone apps allow you to check the forecast and time zones for specific
destinations. We recommend weather.com and timeanddate.com/world clock. Upon arrival, the
time on most smartphones will automatically adjust to the local time.
Carry your prescriptions and over-the-counter medications in their original containers in your
carry-on luggage. Pack a simple first-aid kit along with medicines for motion sickness and mild
upset stomach. As a precaution, use only bottled water and avoid foods from street vendors.
Take care to observe safe health practices when travelling: Wash or sanitize your hands often.
avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth; and cover your mouth when coughing or sneezing. If
you begin to feel unwell at any point in your journey, please inform your guide.
Be sure to bring your own face masks and any other PPE you require during travel; a supply of
masks will be on hand where needed. We also recommend travel-sized hand sanitizer with at
least 60% alcohol, facial tissues and disinfecting wipes or spray.
Guests must wear a mask in accordance with local regulations and service provider
requirements. All protocols are subject to change in accordance with relevant guidelines, local regulations and
conditions.
Plan on packing light — many Cal India Travel journeys include domestic flights that impose much stricter
weight restrictions than your international carrier. Consult the Packing List and Baggage
Restriction’s specifics provided in Essential Information. Be sure to also confirm baggage
limitations with your international carrier before packing.
The typical attire on Cal India Travel journeys is relaxed and informal during the day. Choose comfortable,
versatile clothing that can be layered to account for changes in the weather throughout the day.
Smart casual is appropriate for evenings. Be sure to bring a global travel adapter set with you to
recharge your electronics at your hotel or aboard ship.

bags already have ID tags. This makes it easier for Cal India Travel staff to find and manage your luggage

Be sure to reconfirm your international flights 24 hours prior to your departure. Tickets for any
internal flights, if included on your itinerary, will be issued by Cal India Travel representatives at your
destination and presented to you as needed.
We strongly recommend leaving valuables such as jewelry at home as Cal India Travel cannot be
responsible. Use safes where available to secure your valuables, especially passports, money,
jewelry, electronics and medications. Replacing a lost or stolen passport is much easier if you
have a copy on hand. Pack a photocopy of your passport’s personal information page with your
luggage, and keep a photo of it on your smartphone.
